I am a computer science graduate from India with 5 years experience in IT industry.
I am currently working in Singapore so i am thinking of doing my MBA in NUS. I need your suggestion about which stream i can pursue in MBA so that it can help my improve career in IT industry. Can i write GMAT in May and apply for NUS in August? My medium of instruction in Btech is English so do i need to write IELTS or TOEFL?

I also need one more suggestion. Is it better to complete my MBA now or to wait for another 3 years and do an Executive MBA? If i do a normal MBA now will it be useful for my IT background now?

Hi Suneel,

With 5 years of IT experience you should be able to get into  NUS. It would be a good idea to do you MBA straight away. But I must tell you that NUS is more finance oriented. If you are looking for technology oriented mba, lemme suggest Haas.

About, writing GMAT in May and applying in August, I would strongly suggest against it. Towards the end of the admission cycles, seats might be harder to come by. Your GMAT will take 1- 2 months to send its results to the college, yet you still can apply using the scores you get during the exam.

Applications usually take time, so I'd advice you to give it good thought and time. So, if I were you, I would apply into the next years intake, rather than this years. I personally believe it's a bit late for this year.

About executive MBA, as the name suggests, they are for executives. If you have risen to executive level in a company then you could do this, if you think its necessary. Executive MBA doesn't really get you an executive position.

Hopefully I have answered your questions, if you have any further concerns or questions, feel free to ask them here or in other relevant boards on this forum.
